Pytanie: Where is the black "natural" athleticism in most individual sports other than running?

Answer #1:
I think you are missing the very big point that is about financial support to schools in the many areas that have a higher black population in the USA.
If there were equal finanical support and equal opportunity AND equal demographics then you may have something valid there.
As time and support changes, so will these things.
Answer #2:
I am white. As I understand things...black children are not as likely to learn to swim as white children. Black neighborhoods often suffer from a lack of a public swimming pool so children can learn to swim. Club team swimming is expensive. Unless you are Michael Phelps, most swimmers never cash in big time.
In order to excel at any sport you need an opportunity to participate in the sport. Skiing costs money and most people don't live near ski resorts. America's best skiers tend to grow up in ski towns. They start skiing when they are little kids and ski every day. That lack of a 2 or 3 hour drive to the ski resort is a big help.
Family history is almost important. If daddy played ice hockey then chances are the sons will play too. If daddy was a runner then chances are the kids will be runners too.
In the sport of track and field, certain events have more fame and prestige than others. Usain Bolt is very famous because he runs in the sprints. He'd be far less famous if he ran the 5,000 or 10,000 meter runs even if he obliterated world records in those events. Shot putters and javelin throwers rarely achieve legendary fame.
If I had my pick of sports to be a star in then I'd choose one I love that also has a nice cash payoff attached. If this means I become a golf star over a weightlifting star than can you fault me?
